From kids to adults, Health Rewards love encouraging people to get active.

So we were delighted to sponsor this years annual Gartcairn Winter Festival. Now in it’s sixth year the festivalis getting better every year. Held indoor’s at the state of the art Ravenscraig Sports Centre in Motherwell, the festival is a great way for kids to play football in the winter months, when so often outdoor pitches are waterlogged or frozen.

The festival was a great success with over 1200 kids in attendance and hundreds of family members spectating. It was great to see a mix of ages and abilities, as well as boys and girls, playing the game together. Encouraging sport, a spirit of fairness and sportsmanship is something the Gartcairn Academy always try and promote.

Robert McCallum, Gartcairn Academy Chairman, said;

“It’s great to have Health Rewards on board as the sponsor for this year’s event. We have a lot in common, we try and keep the kids healthy and Health Rewards try and keep the kids and the adults healthy and active.

We have two motto’s at the Gartcairn Academy: Those Who Wish to Play Shall Play and Coach Not Poach. We offer the kids non competitive football and bring as many as we can from the local community into the academy. Giving everyone a chance to play football regardless of ability, their shape or size or where they come from is really important to us. Then we coach them to let them reach the best of their ability rather than trying to poach players off other clubs.”

Gartcairn have a pathway all the way from Under 5’s up to U19’s, Amateur team’s and the Semi-Professional Gartcairn Juniors team. This give’s young kids the chance to progress through the academy each year.
