The Garmin Vivosmart

So because I have a policy with Health Rewards, I get 50% off of a Garmin or Polar. Now before I begin telling you how amazing the one I selected is, let me tell you what’s not amazing. The moves app, now for those who don’t know what the moves app is, it’s an app that’s “meant” to track your steps from your smart phone, and to qualify for the active rewards, you need to get 10 points in a week. To get these points you need to do steps, so 7,500 – 10,000 = 3 points, 10,000 – 12,500 = 6 points and 12,500+ = 10 points. (Which can I just say is soo easy to do) Anyways, I was walking the dog as I do daily having a husky I smash the 12,500 points daily with very little effort, and a time before the Garmin Vivosmart I used the moves app, whilst it works for purpose it’s no where near as good as the Vivosmart.

So I opted to use my discount and get a Garmin Vivosmart, now before the discount it’s £119.99 and you might think, “That’s steep”, and for some folk it is – but I can honestly say its money well spent. Not only is it accurate with the steps, it tells me how many I’ve done, I can set a goal so it can tell me how many I’ve still to do, calories used, it also has a neat wee feature that if you’re like me on a desk job, it vibrates and tells you to move, quick walk and back down, it tells you how many miles you’ve walked.. Any two features I’m totally in love with, it uses Bluetooth to hook up to your phone, so alerts like text messages etc. display on it, very handy indeed! The next feature is the fact it syncs to your phone, and the app syncs to the vitality app, so everything is done for you including registering the steps to get your points. It also hooks into the apple health app and an app called my fitness pal which you input your diet and it tells you how many calories roughly is in that meal. So all in all it’s probably the best tool to engage not only Vitality, but yourself. 10/10.
